Ophelia was born sometime around 9:12 to one of the kitchen maids of the Beauvais family house. She doesn't remember much of this time, except that she wasn't entirely sure who her mother was until she was much older, as most of the kitchen staff raised her, jointly, and kept her under wraps from the heads of household. As she got older, she and the son of the family, Lucien, became friends, and eventually when she started showing signs of magic, Lucien stepped in to rescue her from herself.

He taught her to stay hidden. To stay in control.

Without him, she would have long ago lost control, and been taken from the only place she knew as home, the only family she ever had. And so when the young lord went off to university, and she was offered the chance to go as well (not as a student, oh no, as staff of course) by a stroke of good luck, she went. She liked to learn new and interesting things, and spent tons of time with her head down in books of one thing or another, but more often than not, when she put her mind to it, her knowledge took her more towards healing than anything. And so she took advantage of her closeness to knowledge in every spare moment she had. Between mending clothes and cooking, she was studying.

And then the family was murdered. All of them -- even her family in the kitchens. And the young lord and lady had been taken. She was out, in the streets for the first time in her life, alone, and scared. She had no idea how to do anything on her own, she just wanted to study, and go back to the life she knew inside a household. She survived though, with a little bit of help, she found her way back to the only family she had ever known, and has since been lost in study, like she was so many years ago.
