WHAT ARE ACHIEVEMENTS?

Achievements are one way to be active here on Valiant Hearts! We're hoping the collector in all of you will enjoy these badges, and perhaps even contribute to the options. Achievements will be ever-expanding, and some may be specific to events, seasons, holidays, or even based on inside jokes. Please don't be afraid to contribute to our badges; even if you haven't got the skills to create the badge, you have the ideas and we have a team member with the skill.

WHAT DO YOU RECEIVE FOR ACHIEVEMENTS?

You receive a badge to decorate your IC and OOC accounts with. You also receive +10 gold per achievement. For OOC badges, that gold will be distributed to your OOC account, and you can move it around as needed. These posts you're doing also go into your overall post count and therefore play a role in levelling.

TYPES OF ACHIEVEMENTS
  • Seasonal: These are only available during specific seasons, events, or holidays. These are to be claimed by the character(s) who attend these events or do these things.
  • In Character: These are only available to your IC accounts. These are claimable per character.
  • OOC: These are claimable one time unless otherwise stated. These are only for your OOC accounts.
  • Character Related: These are related to your characters, but are done through OOC means. These are claimable per character account.
  • LGBTQ: These are sexuality badges that are claimable on your character accounts. You can claim more than one.
  • Alternate Universe: These are badges for your OOC accounts, regarding the AU board onsite.
CLAIMING ACHIEVEMENTS OR CONTRIBUTING

To claim or contribute achievements, please refer to our maintenance discord channel, and choose the correct button for your needs.

  • Afternoon Delight — In ONE DAY, you wrote three posts from 11AM to 2PM in your timezone. You can change the forum to match your timezone. Provide three screenshots of posts on the board, showing the "posted DATE" section. 
  • Boost the Economy — You have paid at least five members for their services; whether that's graphics or coding.
  • Coder's Delight — You have contributed towards the code onsite.
  • Graphix All Over — You have contributed towards the character graphics or artwork onsite.
  • PAWNED — You are the person who posted in the last ten threads of the active threads list, and nobody has posted in-between your posts.
  • Early Bird Gets the Worm — In ONE DAY you have written ten posts from 5AM to 9AM in your timezone. You can change the forum to match your timezone. Provide screenshots of posts on the board showing the "posted DATE" section.
  • Collect 'Em All — You have a character of every species.
  • Hogwarts House — Tell staff your Hogwarts House~

     
  • Referral Code — You invited someone to Valiant Hearts and they ended up joining! Send us the name of the member. >
  • Birthday Cake — You were here for a Valiant Hearts birthday!
  • Oops, Ya Caught Me — Catch Ivy creeping and viewing the online list. Please note, not just Ivy being online, but she must be "viewing the online list". 
  • Night Owl — In ONE NIGHT you wrote five posts from the hours 10PM to 2AM in your timezone. You can change the board to your timezone. Post screenshots with the "posted: date" section visible.
  • Baby, It's A Silent Night — Be the only person on the online list. The bots do not count.
  • Here's a Flyer — You advertised for VH 10 times outside of any advertising event.
  • Unluckiest Number — You posted on Friday the 13th.
  • King of Goats — You posted a gif of a baby goat in the spam channel on discord on four different days and tagged Ivy.
  • Tavern Lover — You have posted on every single tavern game all in one setting. Provide a screenshot of the page that shows you are the last poster in every thread.
  • Murdertown — You have killed one character of your own making.
  • Mercenary — You have killed someone else's character
  • Oh Death, Take My Hand — You have killed or been involved in the death of five in-play characters onsite.
  • Let the Royals Fall — You have been involved in the death of a royal.
  • Error Unwanted — You have sent a screenshot or link to errors onsite. This is claimable multiple times.
  • Advertisement Ahoy1 — You have advertised the site at least ten times.
  • Advertisement Ahoy2 — You have advertised the site at least thirty times.
  • Advertisement Ahoy3 — You have advertised the site at least one-hundred times.
  • Gamer Madness — Start a new game in the Tavern.
  • Lore-ax Is Here — Contribute something to the site's lore, that becomes canon.
  • Perfectionist — You have collected every available achievement across all accounts.
  • Epiphany (Lvl 1) — A three-tiered achievement for completing all of the monthly challenge prompts in ONE MONTH. Indicate the month you completed.
  • Epiphany (Lvl 2) — A three-tiered achievement for completing all of the monthly challenge prompts in ONE MONTH. Indicate the month you completed.
  • Epiphany (Lvl 3) — A three-tiered achievement for completing all of the monthly challenge prompts in ONE MONTH. Indicate the month you completed.
  • Fashionista — Make at least three outfit sets for your character (uniforms don't count). Provide direct links to the outfits.
  • Fulfill a Want Ad — Fill someone's want ad. Upon completion link to the want ad and the character profile.
  • Trophy Guru — Collect 10 achievements for your character. No proof required.
  • Magic Sympathizer — Your character sympathizes with mages during the Inquisition. Should a mage-based war come up again, your character would sympathize and fight alongside the mages.
  • Annulment Invoker — Your character hates mages and should another mage-based war happen, they'd fight against the mages.
  • Samhain Eve — Participate in an October event.
  • Baby It's Cold Outside — Participate in a Christmas event.
  • Celebration of Summer — Participate in a Summer solstice event.
  • And Here Comes Spring — Participate in a Spring solstice event.
  • Allergic Rhinitus — Have a thread where your character experiences cold symptoms. Requires two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • The A List — Your character has attended three NON-SITEWIDE events, balls, or parties that were started by other members. Events do not count towards this achievement. Provide a direct link to your character's post in three different events, balls or parties hosted by members.
  • Me and Mister Moon — Your character is out after midnight. Requires three posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Injured Animal — Tend to an injured animal, whether it's wild or tame. Requires two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • And We're Walking — Do a thread entirely where you are in the process of travelling from one point to another. Requires three posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • Potions — Have a thread where your character consumes a potion, can be any type of potion, even one that you have made up. Requires two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread
  • Find the Lost — DHave a thread where your character finds someone else's belongings and returns it. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Another Life — Have a thread in the AU forum with at least two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • Beethoven's Left Ear — Have a thread where your character attempts to play an instrument, and it goes poorly. Provide a direct link to a thread with at least two posts by your character.
  • Beethoven's Right — Have a thread where your character plays an instrument successfully. Provide a direct link to a thread with a least two posts by your character.
  • Snapped Heartstrings — Have your character experience a broken betrothal or engagement. Requires two posts by your character. Post a direct link to this thread.
  • Clumsy J — Have your character drop, break or ruin an object in a thread. This object needs to belong to them or someone else and must break because of pure clumsiness. Provide a direct link to this thread, with at least two posts by your character.
  • Competitive At Heart — Have your character kiss five different characters in separate threads. AU counts in this. Each thread must have at least two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to these threads.
  • Tattooed Taboo — Have your character get a tattoo or piercing in a thread. It needs at least four posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread
  • Write a Letter — Go to the Letters & Notes board and write a letter to someone your character knows. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • I'm Seein' Double — Have a thread where your character, for whatever reason, is hallucinating or seeing things. Must have two posts by your character. Provide a link to the thread.
  • Breakfast in the Shire — Write your character in a thread where they're having breakfast. Requires at least four posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • Elevenses in the Shire — Write your character going into the kitchen repeatedly in a thread. Must have at least five posts by your character. Provide a direct link to this thread.
  • Nabbed — Write a thread where your character is kidnapped and ransomed. Requires two posts by your character. Provide a direct link
  • Napper — Write a thread where your character kidnaps another character. Requires five posts by your character. Provide a direct link.
  • Oops, Betray! — Write a thread where your character experiences betrayal of another character. Requires two posts by your character. Provide a direct link to your thread.
  • Charity's a Virtue — Write a thread where your character performs charity work or a community service. This requires three posts by your character. Provide direct link.
  • Dragon Lady — Write a thread with your character running into a dragon in the wild. This requires three posts by your character. Provide a direct link.
  • Eight Legged Horror — Write a thread where your character encounters wild spiders. This requires five posts by your character, Provide direct link.
  • Thread Royale — Write a thread with your character interacting with an in-play royal or leader of a recognized onsite organization. This must have ten posts from your character. Provide direct link.
  • Barkspawn — Write a thread with your character encountering a blighted/tainted mabari. This must have two posts by your character. Provide direct link.
  • By Thor and Thunder — Your character attempted to move something heavy, and succeeded. Must have at least two posts by your character. Provide direct link to thread.
  • Lo and Behold Olympus — Make a reference to Greek mythology in three different threads outside of the AU forum. Provide a direct link to threads.
  • Folkiest Lore — Make references to folklore in three different threads outside of AU. Greek references cannot count. Provide direct link to threads.
  • Dear Diary — Make three diary entries in the Letter & Notes board. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Baby, Let Me Murder Ya — Your character has killed an in-play character in a thread. This requires at least two posts by your character.
  • I've Been Murdered! — Your character has died to an in-play character in a thread. This requires at least two posts by your character.
  • The Chant of Light — Find a way to have your character recite something from the Chant of Light. This requires just one post, and provide a direct link to the post.
  • Chapsticked and Ready — Have a thread where your character receives their first kiss. This requires two posts by your character. Post a direct link to the post.
  • Puppetmaster — Your character is manipulating another character into doing something for them. This requires at least three posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Lemonhead — Your character is involved in a thread that uses the lemon maturity rating. This requires at least two posts by your character. Provide direct link to thread.
  • Grapefruits, oh Grapefruits — Your character is involved in a thread that uses the grapefruit maturity. This requires at least two posts by your character. Provide direct link to thread.
  • Abide by the Law — Your character was arrested. This requires THREE posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Oh Talking Tree — Your character has interacted with a talking tree in the wilderness. This requires four posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Glamour Nights — Your character has glamoured themselves with magic (or used makeup) in a thread. This requires three posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Educated — Your character has a thread where they've taught someone something with a successful dice roll determining their success. This requires three posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Last of Your Line — Your character is the last person standing during a PQ+. Whether everyone else is unconscious or killed, yours was the last one on their feet. Requires four posts by your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Corrupted — Your character becomes Blighted/Tainted. This requires three threads about this subject, with minimum two posts from your character. Provide a direct link to the thread.
  • Workin' 9-5 — Your character has five threads where they are working. Requires a minimum of three posts by your character. Provide a direct links to the threads.

Claim the matching heart for your character's sexuality and gender. More than one claim possible. If yours is missing, contact a staffer and we add it. No requirement needed. If we're missing one that you'd like to see, also contact us.

 

  • Asexual — Does your character identify as asexual? There's a badge for that!
  • Lesbian — Is your character a lesbian? There's a badge for that!
  • Bisexual — Does your character identify as bisexual? There's a badge for that!
  • Polyamorous — Is your character polyamorous? There's a badge for that!
  • Gay — Is your character gay? There's a badge for that!
  • Trans — Is your character trans? There's a badge for that!
  • Nonbinary — Is your character nonbinary? There's a badge for that!
  • Straight — Is your character straight? There's a badge for that, too!
  • Pansexual — Is your character pansexual? There's a badge for that.
  • Agender — Is your character agender? There's a badge for that.
  • Aromantic — Is your character aromantic? There's a badge for that.
  • Demisexual — Is your character demisexual? There's a badge for that!
  • Genderfluid — Is your character genderfluid? There's a badge for that!
  • Aceflux — Is your character on the asexual spectrum? There's a badge for that.
  • Androgyne — Is your character androgynous? There's a badge for that!
  • It's AU Time, Baby — Create a thread in the AU board.
  • Pokemon, Gotta Catch 'Em All — Create a thread in the AU board based around Pokemon or in the Pokemon universe.
  • The Iron Throne — Create a thread in the AU board based around Game of Thrones or in that universe.
  • In Hushed Whispers — In the quest, as everyone knows, it involves some wibbly wobbly time travel. The Inquisitor finds a world completely altered from the one they knew. Put your character in that world, how did they cope, what are they doing in this AU timeline that never came to pass.
  • Falling From the Fade — What if it had been your character at the Conclave that survived the explosion, your character with the power to close rifts, your character that ultimately became Inquisitor. How would they cope, what would they feel, explore that.
  • Ferelden has Fallen — What if no Ferelden Grey Wardens had survived the darkspawn attack, what if there was no Hero of Ferelden. Loghain tried to route his forces, but they perished too, Now Orlais finds themselves on the front line of the Blight, where is your character, what are they doing, how were they effected. Explore.
