[Q1] Dragons Peak Burns
1
Running forward to follow Deyran's command, Aulus didn't take much influencing when he's like this. But, the titanic monster kicked up what must feel like pebbles for it. A boulder plastered Aulus head-on, throwing him back from the fight. The wind knocked out of him, he slowly pulls himself back up, his nose bleeding but his eyes still fiercely bloodshot.

tldr
- injury: bruises
- combat roll: failure
- boulder to the face
Franziska managed to dodge the giant creature's attack, and gathered blood from herself and her party members until she'd created a blade. Levitating it with careful precision, she'd send it towards the giants face. Skewering it through the eye, she watched as red lyrium dripped down its form. She'd accidentally made this more dangerous.

TLDR;;
- Combat: pass
- Injury Roll: Pass
- Skewers giant through one eye.
- Red lyrium is now falling from the giant.
In waves, it came—a fiery torrent coursing through his veins, beckoning him to stand, to fight. And fight he did. The ground quivered beneath his feet, briefly knocking him down. A boulder hurtled toward him as he attempted to rise, a menacing projectile narrowly avoided with a swift, instinctive dodge. Or so he thought…

Heart pounding, he charged at the looming creature, fueled by an inexplicable urge to confront it. Thoughts raced, a cacophony of doubt and determination swirling within him. What drove him to such reckless action?

He struggled a lot, but eventually managed to execute a series of slashing arcs, each movement precise, each strike purposeful. The air sang with the swish of his blade as it sliced through the creature's hard shell. Three strikes landed, each aimed with calculated precision, seeking to hit something important. Got you! he said, claiming victory as he delivered a final strike before jumping away.

A smile tugged at the corners of his lips—crazy bastard. But beneath the veneer of triumph, a storm brewed. A stinging sensation erupted like wildfire, searing through his senses as he clutched his broken arm in agony. But when… he began, confused for a moment before recalling the boulder he thought he had so masterfully evaded.

Teeth clenched. The stinging turned into grief, grief into rage.

A primal scream tore through the air. He locked eyes with the creature, a silent vow etched in his gaze—a promise of retribution.

TLDR;
  • Gets knocked down by the quake (Rolled a 1).
  • Tried to dodge a boulder but instead breaks one of his arms (Rolled a 3).
  • Unaware of his brutal loss, he continued to fight with the help of natural adrenaline.
  • Uses Swiftsword - Hamstring (Combat Roll: Success).
  • After he was done, he then realizes he had broken an arm and gives a mean stare at the giant.
Whether it was the earthquake knocking her off her feet, the titan's attack, or the fact that her friend suddenly turned into a frog that caused her aim to go awry she couldn't be sure.  Ultimately what mattered was that her arrow missed its mark yet again.  At least this time she didn't fall into a chasm when the earth rumbled, instead managing to stand and regain her stance quickly.  Hopefully next time she wouldn't miss.

TLDR:
  • Failed earthquake check, fell down
  • Failed combat roll, missed attack
  • Passed injury check, no injuries!
Being already somewhat prone, Lana managed to go without being knocked about by the tremor. Instead, she tried to reach out her magic to shift the earth and catch Elanna. Only for... nothing to happen. Again. But as she opened her mouth to speak, nothing came. Nothing but... bubbles?

Any who could take the time to pause and read lips might understand the string of curses. But otherwise, silent bubbles floated up and away into the air.

After a few moments, she resorted to waving her hands frantically. Her griffon in the distance trying to avoid the Titan to get to her. And... Anders? A frog sat by where he'd once been. Was that her fault? It probably is. Came the taunting voice in her head of Voracity.

Despite attempting a swipe at the creature on the way by, her griffon was unable to land a hit, dodging as an arrow went whistling by her feathers instead.

tldr
  • Passed Quake Check
  • Fails Earth attempt to break Elanna's fall, causes another magic surge (unable to speak for 1 turn)
  • Garuda attempts to attack in Lana's stead, fails and just dodges Elanna's wayward arrow
Where Fran didn't fall, Byron did as the ground shook. It was a thump and then he was scrambling back to his feet to join the fight again, axe back in his hand as he moved to swing once more at the giant that had been causing all the trouble before them. Heedless of the red lyrium dripping down from it, and moving in such a way as to not get in the way of anyone else attacking, he made his way to the giant and struck, axe sinking deep into the flesh of his foe that made the king grin.

tl;dr
- failed quake roll
- passed injury roll
- pass combat roll
- now presently grinning like a lunatic
Of all the things the group of younglings could have chosen to do, poking a Titan in the eye, essentially, was not one that had ever crossed her mind. Clearly, it should have, because they had done so. With a lot of screaming as well, it seemed. Angrily. Yelled words that had made no sense to her. There had been a momentary flare of curiosity as the mist had come, swirling around the group, but it had only served to cart one of their number away. That aside, nothing that the group did seemed like they’d considered what the best course of action would be, seeing as they lacked proper defenses and the power in which to survive the consequences of poking said Titan in the eye.

And so, Mythal had stayed her hand to watch what would happen. It was all so very curious, really.

If these ones were current day examples of the state of things, it was little wonder that Elgar’nan was up in arms about the current power structure. He had been dissatisfied with the way of things before the Veil was brought up. Mythal could only imagine the level of hatred he bore these younglings as a whole now. This specific group though, she thought them fascinating, each in their own way. They had even managed to damage the Titan. It was quite well done.

Unfortunately for them though, they seemed to be flagging and their attacks were missing more than they were landing. From her vantage point, she knew that it was time to act.

This farce ended now.

Like creating a great tapestry in the sky, she wove.

Seizing upon the Titan’s life force, she funneled that into herself, placing another shield around the intrepid group of younglings. A precaution, to be sure, but one that she felt was necessary. Next, she focused on the Titan, cursing it so that it would weakened further. She bade the earth of the mountain to move, to lift and wind and grip onto the Titan’s feet as it was lifted. She clamped stone around its ankles, or what passed as them, forcing it still, keeping it in place. Air to and Earth, crushing it down, while lifting it up. Cracks appeared in the body, as the Titan was crushed, slowly at first, then faster, faster, as Mythal forced it into a lumpy sort of sphere.

She’d rather enjoyed seeing what the little mage had done with her blood, and decided to try it out for herself. Slicing her hand open, she watched, both curious and fascinated, as her magic pulled the blood out. It arced in an uneven line in front of her, one, then two, then three, and she solidified these lines into a series of razor-thin, fan shaped blades. There came a strange sensation, faint weakness and vertigo, much like when she had emerged once again into the world.

So very curious!

The first wave of blades scoured away part of the Titan now crushed into a sphere. The second wave chipped away at what remained, so that the third one could smash it into bits entirely, fine rubble and raining down for a moment before that all was swept away by a rush of Air.

And with this, the quest ends. Smile Good job, folx!
