They flood all at once

Vincent nodded, glad that she had people watching out for her, though he wasn’t surprised. He imagined Cullen probably would have rather she didn’t go out into danger at all, but he also imagined that once Rosalie set her mind to something, there was no stopping her. Then he chuckled at her comment about losing the benefits.

What benefits? I mean sure we can sense darkspawn, but they can also sense us. That’s hardly a benefit. The taint won’t kill us immediately, but in thirty or so years we’ll have to fuck off to the Deep Roads when the calling comes for us. Oh, we probably can’t have children, but that’s a bit of a grey area. Though there are some wardens that swear we’re stronger than we were before, but that’s never been proven. I certainly don’t feel stronger. He explained. Maybe he was missing something,. OH, and then there’s the dreams, but most older wardens have learned to block them out, more or less. Though it’s a lot harder to block them out with two blights going on simultaneously. They gave him the creeps that was for sure.
“Don’t worry if everything goes as I plan to you will never hear the calling. I can’t promise you to live until an old age, in the bed with me due to what it’s your job but I promise that the calling won’t take you” she said with determination as she grabbed his hand “The most difficult thing to resolve would be the infertility due to that the reproductive system is one of the least studied so I can’t predict as much as I can the results on other parts of your body” she said thoughtfully as they walked together “But if we ever get there adoption is an option too, or if you happen to not want that we can just not have children, which is a possibility which I respect” she would like a family of her own, but if motherhood wasn’t for her she would not be incredibly torn about it. Vincent’s life was hard enough in order to put extra stress.

“I have a question, do you regret joining the wardens? If it’s too personal you don’t have to answer, I was just curious”
Vincent nodded, he trusted Rosalie, trusted her expertise, mostly trusted the science of it all. The calling for Wardens was a terrifying inevitability, and something that would prevent that, well, that was aces in Vincent’s mind. He squeezed her hand as she took his. The thought of growing old with Rosalie was a nice picture. As she focused on the fertility aspect of things, he smiled. He’d never thought much about kids. He’d been so young when he was forced to become a Grey Warden, barely twenty-one. He was still too caught up in his own life to even consider the idea of one day having children back then. Now was a different story, he was older and in love, the idea of having kids was way less terrifying.

I mean, I’ve heard the odds are somewhat more in our favour if one of us isn’t a Grey Warden. You’d probably understand why better than I do, but honestly I just want to be with you. Anything else we have is just icing on the cake. It’s not that I don’t want children, if it works out it works out, I just don’t need them to be happy as long as I have you. If that makes sense? He wasn’t sure if he was properly explaining himself, the fact that sure, kids would be lovely, but none of that mattered if he didn’t have Rosalie. When the topic changed to whether or not he regretted becoming a Grey Warden, well that was a simple answer.

No, my choice was this or death, and I do rather like being alive, and besides if I hadn’t made that choice I never would have met you, and I do believe you may quite possibly be the love of my life. He said as he squeezed her hand again.
“Oh yes I understand and I share the sentiment and even if we can’t and one day we wish to have a larger family adoption is an amazing option too. I have enough money with what I earn in the university and I am sure of that there are kids out of there that could use a home” she said with a smile. She knew that her future was with Vincent for as long as the Maker would allow it.
“Makes sense, some choices in my life have been hard too but they were worth if that was the way that lead me to you” said the blonde with a smile.
“Oh and speaking about homes” she said with a smile “I might move in a few months to my very own house in Orlais and I would like to give you the spare key if you wish. Right now it’s empty excepting for basic furniture but maybe for the times that you pass by Val Royeaux…” she said fishing for it on her pockets “Better than a tavern isn’t it?” she said with a shy smile.
It felt good, just spending time with Rosalie and talking about their future. A nice break from worrying about the blights. Once they defeated them, he’d have a lot more free time to just spend with Rosalie. The fact that he was Warden-Constable just helped the fact that he would have more freedoms than a lowly recruit or even senior warden. He’d still have duties of course, but once the blights were over it would make a huge difference, and depending on how things went with Rosalie’s treatment could mean even more free time. Since they’d be able to fully bolster their ranks with willing participants who wouldn’t face an inevitable death in the deep roads once the calling took hold.

I can’t wait to see it! Ferelden is nice, but I definitely miss Orlais. Though if you ever wanted to settle back here, I’d always be open to that. I’d figure out something with the wardens. I could always transfer but it would mean a demotion if I did. He had nothing against Ferelden unlike some Orlesians, he definitely didn’t get the wet dog smell that many accused it of smelling like. It just smelled like any place to him.
“For now my place to be is in Orlais, especially now that I am so advanced in my research. Admittedly I can’t know if eventually I would like to return, especially if we form a family down the line but again we are young and have a lot of current responsibilities so I’d say that we still have a few years minimum left in Orlais” Rosalie couldn’t predict how homesick she’d be about Ferelden down the line after all

“For now the important thing is that we are together and have a pretty house which likely will be better than the warden headquarters for you to rest in your spare free time” she said with a sweet smile.
that sounds all excellent! Hopefully if the blights start to go our way, it won’t be unfeasible. Things have to look up eventually, I refuse to believe Orlais will fall to the blight like the Anderfels did, or like Nevarra fell to the walking dead. We’re heartier than all that I’m sure. Vincent didn’t want his time with Rosalie to come to an end, but he did have duties to get back to in Orlais, and he’d already taken care of the other reasons he’d come to Amaranthine.

Well I wish this didn’t have to end, but as long as the blights are still raging, my spare time is sadly limited. Walk me to the Eluvian? Once there, he kissed and hugged Rosalie goodbye and headed back to Orlais.
