Alaric is an outgoing and charismatic individual with a magnetic presence, known for his infectious enthusiasm and love of life. His passion for music and storytelling allows him to connect with others deeply, often using his charm and wit to uplift those around him. Despite his playful flirtations, Alaric grapples with the fleeting nature of temporary pleasures and seeks a deeper fulfillment through his music and relationships.
He embodies a complex duality, being both a hopeless romantic and a realist, which adds depth to his character. Alaric is strategic, dedicated, and loyal, yet struggles with perfectionism and self-sacrifice. He has a strong sense of moral integrity, disliking chaos, deception, and injustice.
Alaric was born into high nobility in the kingdom of Thyllin in Elvhenan and was initially forced into a life of duty after his father's death. However, his true passion lay in music. During a violent attack on his kingdom, he sacrificed himself to help his friend, Prince Revas, escape. Although captured and enslaved, Alaric's musical talents eventually afforded him a slightly better life as a court jester.
After the Veil went up, Alaric woke up during the Fifth Blight and dedicated himself to helping those in need while staying under the Templars' radar. He traveled incognito, often in animal form, to avoid detection. As the mage-templar war spread, he provided assistance wherever he could, though he remained unaffiliated with the Inquisition.
Realizing the threat posed by the returning Evanuris after the Veil fell, Alaric knew he would eventually have to join the fight to protect his home from becoming another hellscape. His journey is marked by resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to making the world a better place through his music and actions.
