Julian Ashford was born in 9:11 Dragon in Kirkwall, a city plagued by corruption and tension. Raised in poverty, he developed a sharp intellect and a love for knowledge, but his life changed drastically when his latent magical abilities manifested at age ten. Taken to the Gallows, the Circle of Magi in Kirkwall, Julian adapted to the harsh environment and became a skilled mage, particularly in Spirit and Creation magic.
As he grew, Julian's fascination with the Fade deepened, leading to concerns among the Templars about his potential for trouble. When the Mage-Templar War erupted in 9:39 Dragon, Julian fled the chaos of Kirkwall and became a fugitive, struggling with isolation and despair. His emotional turmoil attracted the attention of Lustara, a desire demon, who gradually seduced him with promises of peace and belonging. Over time, Julian succumbed to Lustara's influence, allowing the demon to possess him and ultimately losing himself to its power.
