Per aspera ad astra

Jareth crossed his arms in disbelief, his tone laced with dry sarcasm. It was made by the same mage who patched you up before. If that was good enough, it should be fine now. He pressed forward, maintaining a bit of distance, his mind already calculating the risks. He does look like the type to draw trouble, Jareth thought.

The atmosphere seemed to grow heavier with each passing second, an oppressive weight pressing down on Jareth’s chest. A gnawing sense of unease settled in his gut, making his spine chill and the hairs on his arms rise. He hesitated, a flicker of worry crossing his otherwise composed face. Then again, it never hurts to be overly careful, he muttered, his voice tightening.

With a swift motion, he raised his staff high, the tip glowing with a soft, shimmering green light. A pulse of energy rippled from it, filling the air with an eerie hum. The spirits of the world responded, their unseen presence wrapping around them in an invisible barrier. The weight of the magic settled over them as a protective mantle, shielding them from whatever dangers lay ahead.

The strength glyph Jareth had etched on the man earlier would bolster his power, but with the spirit shield in place, Jareth hoped he'd be smart enough not to get himself killed. At least, that’s the plan, Jareth thought, strategizing with each step as he considered their surroundings.
