The demon moved quickly, rushing towards the intruders. It had claimed these walls; these rooms; these scattered, dusty belongings. The magic they were using only drew it in, a beacon guiding its path through winding walls, past doors off their hinges and blood-smeared across walls.
It left a trail of blackened flooring behind it, as its touch burned the very tile it stomped on. Lumbering slowly, it roared as it came to block the two males path.
They'd see that it had once been a man — or it had once possessed him. Perhaps it still was a man? How could they be certain they were not murdering someone by dispatching this creature? The demon stood taller than its human form, which hung limply from its chest held in place by what appeared to be the chains of the possession, smoldering against an open rib-cage.
A shield, against attacks, for the man there still breathed. It flung a ball of flame towards them.
