She wasn’t as familiar with Danny as Cooper was, but he had been here enough to recognize him as he made his way into the tavern. Luckily he seemed to be able to put this asshole in his place and Maika just grinned, not hiding for a moment how much she was enjoying the show “For you? Free round darling” she said clearly ignoring Bastien in favor of Danny. Maika was going to put all the effort on making Bastien feel small and irrelevant in this conversation.
Maika rose her eyebrows as he addressed her capacity to bark back “Yes yes, you are mean terrible and scary; please stop wasting my time” she said waving her hand at Bastien, ignoring him until he left.

Once the tavern was empty again she sighed “Thank you, really this one is on me; I thought he’d never leave. He is lucky of that I have promised to leave old skills in the past, otherwise he’d have regretted pulling this shit on me” she said bitterly.
