Seraphine.., Malik started, before shaking his head. She was right after all, he did know how it was going to end, she would be at his home for the foreseeable future, which was better than leaving her here in the palace where Dorothy could potentially kill her. He couldn't help the small voice in the back of his head though,
Why are you saving her, only to kill her later?
That, that he didn't know. He had asked himself that a million times in the past, as he folded his arms inside his robe, watching her leave.
I'll make sure your cat has a bed and bowl made available as well.
He wasn't about to tell her that her cat was, in fact, him. She would learn that one day soon enough. Would learn that the little black tom cat that followed her around and slept curled into her side was him. The same black tom that sat next to the Archon several days in a row before vanishing off again. But it was a small thing he could give her in this moment.
And as Dorothy brought his new tea back he gave the other woman a scowl.
Go away.
He had no patience for the catty, manipulative woman, nor her attempts at fawning. Seraphine was the only one that occupied his thoughts, and that was leading towards when he would be killing her.
