Mangus was nestled into a comfortable chair in the Library, an old book across his lap. He loved reading - but that wasn't really the purpose of this visit. After all, this place was more a garden than a library in earnest. No, he was here to visit an old friend... irresistibly drawn to her. It had been a long time, but the need to be near her had grown nearly unbearable. He wanted to....he wanted to wrap her in his arms and hold her, to protect her from everything in this world that meant to do her harm...
Of course, none of that was possible. This was the palace and, in the palace, everything had eyes and ears...especially now that it was crawling with crows.
So instead he sat quietly, suppressing the urge to look up each time there were footsteps at the door. She would find him. She always found him. More accurately he supposed, they always somehow found each other.
