She was right - he'd always been careful. He'd always been determined to figure out how to achieve the best outcome from every situation - often at expense of spontaneity. In all of his life, only three people had made him want to forget himself, even if just for a while. He'd lost all three of them, though fate had been kind enough to give him a second chance with Lara. It was something he was determined not to let slip away.
So now he sought balance - careful planning that allowed him to seize the moment whenever he had the chance. Preparation that enabled uninhibited whimsy. Which is why, at a moment when he should probably be planning, all he wanted to dive across the bed and tickle her until she couldn't breathe.
