Magnus watched the exchange with amusement, though he was careful not to let it show on his face.  Clearly small talk wasn't something the little elf was interested in (or perhaps capable of).  

It made no difference, really.  They were going to follow the trail and see where it led.  

At the very least, it was entertaining to watch Jaqueline interact with someone so far outside of what she was used to.
