Magnus adjusted his own positioning, letting the length of his body touch hers.

He watched as her eyes seemed to grow heavy with sleep, each blink stretching out longer than the previous. When her eyelids finally stayed closed he lay there for a bit, watching her. Laying here on the bed against her, listening to her soft breath...it was heaven. It wouldn't last, but that just made it more important to savor the time now.
After a long while, he slipped from the bed and started to make preparations for the day - he had a dessert to make. For today, at least, they could pretend like they didn't have the weight of responsibility looming overhead. Today they could pretend that they had a simple life filled to the brim with happiness, warmth, hope, and love. Today, he wanted to give her a taste of one of the lives that could be theirs.
