Vincent nodded, he trusted Rosalie, trusted her expertise, mostly trusted the science of it all. The calling for Wardens was a terrifying inevitability, and something that would prevent that, well, that was aces in Vincent’s mind. He squeezed her hand as she took his. The thought of growing old with Rosalie was a nice picture. As she focused on the fertility aspect of things, he smiled. He’d never thought much about kids. He’d been so young when he was forced to become a Grey Warden, barely twenty-one. He was still too caught up in his own life to even consider the idea of one day having children back then. Now was a different story, he was older and in love, the idea of having kids was way less terrifying.
I mean, I’ve heard the odds are somewhat more in our favour if one of us isn’t a Grey Warden. You’d probably understand why better than I do, but honestly I just want to be with you. Anything else we have is just icing on the cake. It’s not that I don’t want children, if it works out it works out, I just don’t need them to be happy as long as I have you. If that makes sense? He wasn’t sure if he was properly explaining himself, the fact that sure, kids would be lovely, but none of that mattered if he didn’t have Rosalie. When the topic changed to whether or not he regretted becoming a Grey Warden, well that was a simple answer.
No, my choice was this or death, and I do rather like being alive, and besides if I hadn’t made that choice I never would have met you, and I do believe you may quite possibly be the love of my life.He said as he squeezed her hand again.
