It was easy to say these things from the comforts of his office. Most who were unaware of the drama that had befallen his family would think it tone deaf, but Rene had endured his own kind of suffering. Out played and out manoeuvred because he refused to play the Game and instead focus on being content with his lot in life. That lot being one woman, his Ettie. Mica would know. Sympathise even. It was easier to focus on others' pain and problems than his own. Ettie was for him to dwell on and quietly shoulder, alone and in his own way.
