It was kind of cute that Alistair thought he was unrecognizable. Especially considering three of the people standing there had slept in close quarters with him for the better part of a year. That might have been a decade ago but there hadn’t been that much of a change in the man’s appearance and the disguise was something. He could have chose a full suit of armor with a full helmet but Alistair had never been quick on the draw. He glanced at Lana, trying to see how the two of them were going to handle this and when she didn’t out him immediately he focused on their other old friend.
He looked around, prepared to heal anyone who was hurt, not offering much in ways to get Elanna out. They couldn’t get a griffon down there so that was out.
Then he heard Lana announce she was going in and his own stomach dropped,
His heart was racing the moment she was out of his view and he’d gone pale. He couldn’t see her. He didn’t know if she was okay or in immediate danger. He could feel the weight of his late husband’s limp body in his arms and his mind replaced it with Lana.
Anders had to get down there.
He pulled rope from his own belt and holstered his staff to his back, whistling for Fred. He didn’t announce what he was doing, tying the rope to Fred to help hold his weight.
~Anders doesn’t out Alistair even though he recognizes him.
~is looking for Lana when the ground goes crazy
~panics at her going into the hole and leaps into action to join her as a trauma response to remembering losing his husband, is not communicating his plan to anyone but Fred the griffon
You look good, Elanna,he said and gave her a smile. However, the reunion was cut short however when the ground opened up underneath them. He watched as an d friend fell into the crevice, reaching to grab ahold of Lana, almost on instinct, but of course was unable to due to her being a raven. That was okay though because that meant she was okay.

Lana, wait we don’t kno—

Now, if the ground goes out from under you, you can take off. I’ll hold on.he said to the beast, knowing mostly the thing would do so out of instinct but it felt good to say and then he dropped the rope down next to the other length and went to lower himself in.
TLDR
