She kept her hands on Ella until she was steady, and then rose slowly behind her, keeping an arm around her. She never broke the glare, in fact, if she could, Kaczor was raised up to her full imposing height in that moment, shoulders back, and the smeared lipstick on her lips, Ella’s lipstick, not her own, she didn’t wear lipstick, but she would gladly wear Ella’s no matter where she decided to leave it. [q]It’s alright, my dearest, we don’t need to rush, we can take a moment back in the house to prepare for dinner.[q]
She still hadn’t broken the other man’s gaze, because Kaczor knew that that glare was. Her father had told him that Kaczor had been born a male. Oh that must smart, to know he could have had the [q]traditional[q] over-blown theatrics of a nearly royal wedding for his [q]toy[q]. Well, Kaczor was making certain the man never had any claim to her ever again. [q]Ella and I have decided that a week from today will be the wedding. We’re going to be taking up residence in my townhome immediately. I’ve already sent my household to yours, father,[q] she said to Ella’s father, sweetly, but the smile never reached her eyes. [q]To pack up her belonging and bring them to our home. No sense in us prolonging the move, and it will let us get to know one another much much better over the coming week. Give Ella time to decide if she really wants me or not.[q]
She could already tell her father was on cloud nine, a step behind the other man. Obviously her patriarch saw nothing wrong with a little kissing in the gazebo between two fiancees. It’s not like they had been caught in flagrante delicto, Kaczor’s pants were still on, and that was a sight better than her father had caught her in in the past. Besides, he was certain Kaczor knew the importance of not messing up a girls chances of a potential match if they didn’t work out with one another. But that looked like it was an unfounded fear. Things seemed to be on a good track.
[q]I remember I had a hard time not kissing your mother when our engagement was announced.[q] Kac’s father teased. [q]Now, if you ladies would like to join us back in the house, dinner will be in thirty minutes.[q]
[q]Good, that’s enough time for Ella and I to get cleaned up, and perhaps sneak a peak in the Gallery. We hadn’t made it that far yet.[q] She reached down, for Ella’s hand, slotting her fingers with Ella’s. [q]Are you ready, my wife?[q]
