Kaczor was like a shield; that arm around her steadied her and then it stayed. And she glanced upwards, at the pet name, ears burning even worse when she noticed her lipstick smeared across Kac's lips.

And the other woman wasn't fazed. And she though Kac was smiling, it wasn't the smile that Ella most enjoyed. It was easy to pick up when Kaczor would rather be anywhere else... In just a few hours, she'd learned one of the most important tells that she'd need for her future-wife.

Kaczor's father looked elated, and she couldn't help but smile down at her feet. He didn't look surprised, though, and then he teased them and Ella shifted her weight, foot-to-foot, leaning into Kaczor for a moment.

[q]Uh... huh.[q] A paused agreement, that she was ready. But she glanced at the wine glass in her hand, and brought it to her mouth, finishing it in just a few swallows. And after that her gaze wandered to their hands, interlocked once more.

And it felt... good. To be touched like that. [q]Ye... yes.[q] A proper agreement, and she straightened, trying her best not to cower at her father's glare as it shifted towards her. As if she should know why this match suddenly wasn't suitable.
