Novella sniffed, as she watched Kazcor silently. She glanced away when the other woman described how she'd get her Bride Price, and wouldn't need to be embarrassed when her father shirked on the dowry. She shifted uncomfortably as a 'purity test' was mentioned; her father had forced her to undergo one of those extensive ones prior to this; after all, the military wasn't known for being kind to the women that were in their ranks.
She wiped her eyes again and sniffled quietly, still quiet as she pondered everything that was being said. [q]You... did this on purpose?[q] She frowned, for a moment. She'd been set up; to get her away from her father.
And then, Kazcor made a suggestive motion with her tongue, and Ella giggled softly, shaking her head. [q]You're... you're a kind person. Just... not kind in a normal way,[q] she sighed, hiding her face in her hands.
And then she was laughing, quietly against her own hands. [q]I'm... I'm so... sorry.[q] She couldn't help but giggle, the longer she studied the quickly darkening circles under the others eyes, the way her nose was swelling. The apology didn't sound sincere because she was laughing, tapping her feet against the ground where she sat.
She wasn't crying, for the moment. Though she was certain the guilt she'd chased away would find her again.
