...and down goes a God
More is more.

Until everything is nothing.

Like sand through a sieve, so too does the grip on domination slip through his fingers.

It was willing, he would claim. The plan all along. A play at being king to recount the days missed from a mind full of revenge. When in truth, it is simply the amalgamation of failures once thought to be victories. Steps in the right direction veered towards damnation the entire time.

Shameful humility on a grand scale, a godly scale.

Even gods knew defeat.

It all started with a snap. The tipping point. One decision that influenced the rest.

Shackled by his dwindling will, the god-king looked up to the eyes that loomed above and sighed. His once omnipotent aura that reigned supreme now mere wisps of shadowed flame as if the fuel had finally run out. In fact the only light that remained was the one in his eyes that also seemed to gutter with every lash of the force that siphoned his almighty power.

His beautiful face, however, remained unmarred; a desperate vestige, the purpose of which remained unclear.

What a lovely victory you’ve designed for yourself A charming smile as if talking over tea if not for the wince that he failed to keep from his expression. An involuntary groan of pain as his power continued to leak from him like an unplugged tap.

He couldn’t make out the other shadows around him, but he knew who stood before him. They’d shared many similar moments during his current manifestation.

I assume you know of the reckoning you will face for this? For all power, especially the ill gotten sort, came with a price.

This was his apparently.

To live an eternity, shattered and whole, made and unmade. Unmade and remade. Because no power that ever existed in this world was original and could never be killed. Not completely. But it never lessened the pain of losing it, just like the lessons presented would never truly be learned.

I pity you, child. Did they know what they would unleash upon his death? Did they know the void that would need filled? Did they know that the power that leaked from him now would demand a new host? Did they understand that sacrifice?

The twin blades sticking from either side of his neck twisted at unseen hands. He yowled like a stuck boar as his cursed lifeforce spilled from the wounds anew.

The one before him, hands tied behind their back, smiled.

A vision would invade their mind then. A glamor fueled by the last of his power. A giant bladed pendulum swung between them. Each pass revealed a less vital form, a body visibly decaying as his blood started to swirl into a glowing vortex. With eyes now pure flame in black pits, mouth agape with the lack of muscle to hold it shut, he croaked out a final message.

It’s yours. It wasn’t a gift.

In another blink the glamor faded away and all that was left was a man prone at his captor’s feet as if to pray.

And so the circle would start again. The timer reset. A new destiny created.

We wish to invite every OOC player to submit a character (1) to entry into a lottery to draw who landed the killing blow and perhaps inherited some of the Evanuris' power. We'll see what Chaos has in store... The roll will be done publicly and the response recorded in this thread for posterity. There may be a few more extra-rolls done to determine some secret things, as well. So enter and see! Remember, one character, no more!
