Elrea grinned slightly. We did get through inventory quickly, didn't we? Maybe I should give that apprentice some tips. She teased, leaning to write down her last count. Let's do tomorrow? I've got to clear Orlaith's schedule and make sure someone'll watch her.

Very to the point, she was busy convincing herself that Taegen was just being friendly; nobody would want to be involved with a woman of her background. Especially not someone as respected as the Hearthkeeper. But she could appreciate his friendliness, it was a rarity some days.
Taegen nodded as she spoke about how fast they'd gotten through inventory and he chuckled a bit when she mentioned giving the apprentice some tips. Though he imagined the kind of tips the apprentice needed was how not to fall out of a tree, yes that advice would certainly do him better than pointers on taking inventory. Elrea choosing for them to leave the next day definitely made the most sense, he barely managed to stifle a yawn that he'd been feeling for a bit now. It wasn't super late, but he had been going since 4am and was quite tired.

If you need someone to watch her, I'm sure my daughter would be glad to. I mean, it's just a thought and she's pretty good with kids. At least, I think so, but then I am her father so I suppose my view on the subject is biased. Granted volunteering his daughter before asking her probably wasn't the typical way of going about things, it was just that he knew for a fact she enjoyed helping out around the clan in more than just looking after the Halla.
Oh, Orlaith would love to see the Halla, she mused, nodding thoughtfully. She heard Orlaith coming, and grinned at the man's yawn. You should get some rest. I'll take Orlaith to find your daughter and ask if she can look after her. But I also promised to take her to the beach tonight.
There was a moment where Taegen considered offering to go to the beach with them, but he was so tired and it was quite evident how tired he was. He wasn't even sure why he wanted to go to the beach with them, it wasn't as if he hadn't seen it a hundred times, and it wasn't all that interesting. Oh well, Taegen pushed those thoughts out of his mind and smiled warmly.

Well, that sounds lovely, so I'll see you in the morning then! Did he sound too eager, he wasn't sure, he was too tired to be sure, instead he just was glad that he wouldn't be going to Arlathan on his own.
