Old Friends, New Secrets

Zevran settled in a bit more now that they’d gotten business out of the way. Once the glasses were full again, he reached over and took a sip of his. It was nice to be able to mix business with pleasure when it was such a good friend. He was tired and weary from leading The Vultures, having a relaxing break was definitely long overdue.

Then he chuckled at the comment about Cullen. He hadn’t seen Cullen and Lana in too long, or really any of them aside from Elanna, but they’d all spread out and gone on to get busy with life, it meant getting together with all of them difficult at best.

I have it on good authority from Leliana that there was a repeat performance while he led the Inquisition troops. Once was funny, twice was hilarious, but also made Zevran believe that perhaps it was a common occurrence when Cullen played Wicked Grace, or just really bad luck on his part.
Her eyes widened and she couldn't help the equally amused and disbelieving "No!" that escaped her.  "I can't believe they got him to do it again.  Clearly we need to invite them to play a round.  They must be a fun bunch," she grinned.

"Though we might have to do a bit of convincing to get Cullen to join in again.  Pretty sure we can manage, though."  There was a silver tongue or two in the bunch, and she would bet good money that if they ever did manage to all be together again someone would get him to join in.

She delt the cards for a round, and he did for another, and while they didn't have time for more than a couple of hands the wine and conversation flowed easily as the they set aside the troubles of the world for a little while to reminisce and enjoy the companionship of old friends before the world intruded once again.
Zevran truly enjoyed his afternoon, not that he hadn’t expected to. Any time he gets to see one of his friends from the Fifth Blight is a good day in his book, but he hadn’t expected to also get to play a few hands of Wicked Grace and actually relax. Considering the nature of why he’d been meeting with Elanna to begin with.

It was fun to do more than just catch up for once, all business no play certainly did not make a very interesting life. When all was said and done, he headed back home, with some plans on what sources he could poke at to see about getting more information out of about the Ferelden Royal family. All in all it was a good day.
