Surprise of brotherhood

Despite living in Orlais, so far the blight had been far enough away that he hadn't really thought as much about it as he probably should have. Even though he had taken into consideration the latest reports on the borders of the blight before leaving Val Royeaux, clearly a small group of darkspawn had gotten off from the main group and gone further south than they were supposed to have been. He nodded about needing to clean off.

Last reports I'd heard they were supposed to be further north than this, they must have gotten some stragglers that broke through the lines and gotten this far. We definitely need to clean off, but maybe we wait and do it once we are out of Orlais, faster we are out of this part of Orlais, better chance we don't run into any more darkspawn and I don't want to try our luck a second time. Tomas fell in line with Jacq.
Julian compose himself as he looked back at both his siblings. It was time that they were off. Together at last. For a moment, there was a hidden happiness seen within his eyes. A twinkle of joy. The only thing he valued in his life were these two people right beside him. His eyes narrowed toward the open hills that eventually opened into a valley. The world was changing. Changing into chaos. If the blight wasn't taken care of soon, it would corrupt the world and the people he loved. A sudden pulse of anger rang within him. A desire. A sign of promise. The daemon inside him grinned with delight as it bellowed with desire. "Let us take our leave. I'd had for the main contingent of the darkspawn notice a small group of their spawn had been slain."

He took a small look at his brother and then at his sister. If anything happened to any one of them, he wouldn't know what he would do without them. He would most likely succumb to rage and darkness. "Stay close...." Julian spoke as he twisted his cloak behind his ears and raised it over his head and began to take the long journey back home.
Jaq gave a small nod and began walking, her nerves settling a tiny bit with each step she took.  Still, though, she was vigilant.

The joy of being reunited with her brothers was tempered only by the reluctance to have the conversation with Julian that awaited her.

First, though, they needed to get home.
