It was rare that Morrigan pulled her children together; it was rare that anyone witnessed a gathering of the Witches. But she had shown up to see Asha'bellanar, which was a surprise in and of itself. She avoided her daughter like she was avoiding a plague. Not because she did not love the girl, but because every time she saw her, something went wrong. The child simply wasn't what Morrigan expected, and no-one was around to temper her anymore. And she'd not yet introduced Grainne to her children.

She'd brought food for a picnic, being realistic, she had probably let herself into Cullen's kitchen and absconded with whatever he'd been making. But there was a picnic, blanket and basket and even a puppy. Which might seem a bit suspicious, if it wasn't already clear that she was trying to get on her child's okay side. She wasn't even certain where she stood with Kieran these days. But at least she knew Asha disliked her (though dislike might be too strong of a word... or not strong enough, who knows).

Morrigan despised pretending to be domestic. But here she was.
A picnic? Truly something was wrong with his mother. Why would Morrigan seek a family dinner with her children? The anxiety and nerves of the entire evening began crawling throughout his own body. What was his mother planning? Or was it truly a dinner just to see family? It didn't add up. In his own room, he paced back and forth stopping occasionally to look at maps sprawled around his desk. There was too much to be done. Dark spawn closing in on the city? And Morrigan wants to have a family dinner. He was about to have a mental break down but that familiar soothing voice echoed throughout him. That voice had calmed him. Like a wave collapsing on itself. He could hear the voice wrap around him. Warm essence applied the pressure he needed to let go of the anxiety of the dinner. Kieran took a deep breath and nodded to himself, "Thank you...". The affirming words were gentle and kind as he approached his dresser and began dressing for dinner.

The good thing about this dinner was that he would get to see his sister. He had been wrapped up with politics that he hadn't taken the time to stop by and say hello. He focused on that excitement to get him through the dinner. After what seemed like centuries of gathering the courage to arrive, he managed to see his mother. He wore black and gold dress wear. A robe along with pants and a matching dress shirt. "Mother..." Kieran approached her as he lifted himself up with confidence to try to avoid acknowledging his anxiety.
After everything that had happened recently, Asha wasn't sure how she felt about a family picnic. Part of her still wanted to be mad at her mother for what had happened, but the spirit of peace that now resided in her, instead of the shard of mythal, made her feel like it was just easier to forgive her mother and move on. It was quite conflicting, though there was a part of her that was happy to not feel quite as ragey all the time.

She took her time getting ready, Graham, her pet necromanced dog, laid on her bed watching her. Finally once she was ready she called to Graham who obediently hopped off the bed and followed her, it didn't take too long to get to the meeting spot, though she was surprised at the spread, it just all seemed so unlike Morrigan, but she wasn't in the mood to question it so instead she put on a smile.

This looks lovely, and oh look, a puppy, look Graham a friend for you to play with. Graham seemed suspicious at first, unsure if the puppy would like him.

Graham's appearance
Morrigan studied her son as he showed up first, raising her gaze from the little pup she'd been messing with. Kieran. Her smile was pleasant, for once she was in a good mood. A rare sight since Loghain's death.

Asha'bellanar followed soon after, and Morrigan regarded the girl and the necro-dog quietly. You're in a good mood, Asha. She commented, idly, watching the puppy and Graham meet. The necro-dog was one of the things she did enjoy about her daughter.

I just thought... it's been a long time, since we've had a meal as a family.
His mother was playing with a puppy. She was really in a good mood he thought. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. But there was so much to do. The thoughts of responsibility weighed Kieran down. His smile brighten when he noticed his sister arrived. Smiling, he approached Asha and wrapped his arms around her. "It's good to see you Asha. I see you have a new dog...."

Kieran looked at the picnic with caution. It was out of the normal things his mother would do. As he approached the blanket, Kieran decided to sit down. Cali was right about needing the fresh air and feeling the sun's rays hit one's body. Maybe it wouldn't be as bad as he thought. "So...a picnic? What is on the menu? Such a time for a picnic...with the blight right on our doorstep..."
Asha was in a good mood, especially considering she'd found out the truth about how their father had died, but they'd already hashed it out and discussed the whole encounter with Solas, so now she was just really wrapping her head around how different the spirit of peace made her feel. There was a lot less anger, so much so that it was amazing how she'd even functioned while she had the shard of Mythal in her.

I am in a good mood, mother. I don't think I realised just how corrupted the shard of Mythal had become until I got the spirit of peace instead. She greeted her brother warmly, offering a hug, and then listened as he spoke to mother. In some ways, he had a point. There was a blight going on in both Ferelden and Orlais, but was it really so awful to take a few moments and just relax? Kieran, the Blight may be important, but so is our spirit and health. We're no good to anyone if we don't take time to relax a little from time to time. Besides, it's mother, can't we just enjoy the fact she's relaxed for once and actually having fun?
Ever since Mythal's shard had been removed, Asha was in better spirits. But this didn't help her mother connect with her any better. They were still strangers and would likely continue to be strangers. There wasn't much that she could do about that.

And she rolled her eyes at her son's statement, regarding the Blight. It certainly isn't on this doorstep, Kiwi. She grumbled, flicking a bit of bread at her son. Lighten up or invite Urthy to the party instead.
His sister was right. His health and mind were just as important. He rolled his eyes as his mother flung bread and asked for Urthy to come out to play. It was strange to see his mother in such high spirits. He certainly did enjoy seeing his sister in a good mood as well. Kieran knew the connection between both his sister and mother. He didn't want to disrupt this bonding moment between the two. He took the bread that was thrown and sniffed it. He then placed it in his mouth. "I can lighten up. And I don't need Urthy's help..." Lie. He could feel Urthy's laughter as he sent an encouragement toward him from within. He felt like he needed to prove to his mother that he could be fun. Music. They needed music. He could pretend to dance and be fun. He could dance with his sister. The idea popped into his head as excitement took over. "What this picnic needs is music...."
Asha perked up at the music and let out a small squeak of excitement. Oh, that was definitely what the picnic needed, but where would they get some music? She tipped her head curiously at her older brother. It was so nice being altogether like this. She really didn't want the moment to end. She usually felt like she had to fight to get her mother's attention, but here she was just there, present for them both.

Where would we get music from? She asked.
Morrigan eyed her son, as he lied. She didn't call him on it though, she wasn't one to embarrass the boy needlessly, only when it'd teach a lesson. She tried to be a fair mother, albeit a rather harsh mother.

Music would be enjoyable, she agreed. Even Asha seemed excited about the idea of music, asking where they'd acquire the music from. And with a wave of her hand, an assortment of instruments would appear around them.

Well, the two of you will give us music. Enchant each instrument to play. It'd be tricky, because the instruments would not sync with one another automatically. The children would need to figure that out.

Optional: You can roll a dice between 1-20 on the discord to determine if your instrument syncs correctly/or if your character fails!
