Announcement #9 | 6.4.2023

Hey friends and fae!

Well, we’re about two months from being on myBB for two years! You know what that means? We’ve had our lovely resident coder with us for two years! Without Ash, we probably wouldn’t have made the myBB move work.

We’ve grown a lot as a site. And a lot of us have grown together, learning to coexist with people from different cultures, backgrounds and more. I’m proud of everybody on the site, readers and members.

With our influx of new folx, I just want to remind everyone: only take threads that you know you can handle. In my experience personally, I wind up closing threads that have been slow to earn replies. An example was a thread that started 11/2022, just now being closed. It was just too slow for the muse.

Never ever feel like you can’t close a thread because of whatever reason. Whether you’re not feeling the thread, it’s dragged on too long and you think it’s hindering your ability to post, etc. It’s all valid. As long as you’re talking to your RP partners before and after closing threads to retcon the ending, you’re fine!

That being said, please don’t close threads willy-nilly. ?

Changes in May:

• No store or gold until further notice.
  
• No leveling until further notice.
  
• Elgar’nan and Mythal are released and in play.
  
• Flemeth is adoptable.
  
• Mythal and Solas’ children are in-play.
  
• Dragon lore has been released.
  
• Foci and specializations have been released.
  
• Players can now have 5 aberrations, as long as each is a different genotype.
  
• Aberrations can now have one free base genetic component.
  
• The profile code was released in May.
  

Roadmap of Changes to Come:

• Site Skin Recolor: Tentatively planned for the site’s two-year anniversary.
  
• Religion Lore: A proper guide to religions in Thedas. Released later this year.
  
• Werewolf Lore: Released later this year.
  
• OOC Guidebook: This is aimed to be totally finished by July.
  
• IC Guidebook: This is aimed to be totally finished by July.
  
• Levelling: Aimed to be released in July.
  
• Gold: Aimed to be released in July.
  
• Store: Released later this year.
  
• Vessel Lore: Released later this year.
  
• Face Claim Directory: This is an ongoing project.
  

Orlais Plot Update
The Orlesian Blight has ended. May the Emperor of Orlais rejoice along with his people. In Orlais, the heroes are well-known. Lanariel Surana performed a ritual to purify the archdemon soul, and place it into one of her children.

Does this mean the Hero of Ferelden is now the Hero of Orlais?

Yes.

The darkness that plagued Orlais is gone, and Orlais can rebuild. The Orlesian royal family is looking a little small, though, with the death of the previous Empress and the mysterious disappearance of the Princess…

In these dark times, the Orlesian group, the Bards, have found their footing under a new leader. Mysteriously, they’re only known as Taliesin. This new leader has not been seen or identified, though Orlesian authorities are seeking them out for a string of murders.

Antiva Plot Update
Antiva has entered an era of political strife as their queen stepped down and took a position as her son, Enzino’s, advisor. During this time, in some small district on the outskirts of Antiva City, Elgar’nan has taken up residence.

Reports have reached the royal guard about someone marking people. By the time an investigation is launched, this entire district has been enslaved and indoctrinated. The royals are very aware of a threat within their borders.

Antiva’s new king is unprepared, and the previous monarch had never dealt with something like this before. How many districts will Elgar’nan take before he comes for the throne itself?

Ferelden Plot Update
Nobody knows that the Ferelden Blight ended because of one horny man… The Blight in Ferelden just mysteriously ended. And personal drama ensues. The kingdom is rebuilding, with no knowledge that they have a queen; her coronation has not been announced or held.

The bachelor king is receiving criticism for considering an Antivan woman for his wife. The public doesn’t know this wasn’t his choice. Rumors are nasty little things that lead to terrible things.

Current Events:
The natural disaster event was a bit of a flop, so we’ll be on a cooldown for events. This gives Grace and Sissy time to expand upon and write with their new plot-tied characters, Elgar’nan and Mythal.

Threads from this event have been moved to the Elsewhere board of the appropriate main board.

Events from this point on will relate to:

• Holidays, as we see fit.
  
• The Evanuris plotline.
  
• Perhaps a few species or lore drops. ?
